God the Son (Lamb)
God the Son... The most authentic and beautiful symbol of our Lord is the Lamb. John the Baptist, at our Lord's baptism, pointed Him out saying, "Behold, the Lamb of God which has taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). The cross before the worshipper reminds him of the Savior's Passion. "And He bearing His cross went forth unto a place called the place of a skull where they crucified Him"(John 19:17-18). We have been redeemed from sin and given salvation not "with" coruptable things as silver and gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot" (1 Peter 1:18-19). The Lamb with the Banner of Triumph is resting on the book with the seven seals which is symbolic of Christ as judge at the end of the world. "And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book...sealed with seven seals" (Revelation 5:1)
